Santa Catalina de Samoza to Ascebo

Today started out relatively easy. But that was not the real story. The first half of my 29k today was brutal up hill. At the top I reached the cruz de Ferro. As legend and tradition has it you leave a rock at the Cruz de Ferro that signifies baggage that you have been carrying that needs to be left behind. I left two rocks. One from PG&E pool that I have had for years, and one from my mom and dads house. It was a very emotional experience.

The next half of my day was spent going downhill. Now most people would say that is great. However more injuries occur going downhill than up.

Lastly for Ali
