Today was beautiful. We started in Nájera which is beautiful. The old city is set between tall red clay cliffs and a river. Since today is May 1st which is a big holiday in Spain (Labor Day) the town was all set up for a big fiesta.
Once we left Nájera we walked out through the vineyards and the grain fields.
The road was a bit up and down but not too bad. Many more pilgrims on the camino today since it is a holiday.
We walked through a village with a zip line so my friend Russ had to give it a try.
It is a big fiesta in Santo Domingo de la Calzada as well. Young girls carry around bread with the saint stamped on it. The entire city is enjoying a fiesta day. Even the Spaniards in the albergue are partying.
All in all a good day.
