The first week has flown by. It has been really fun, and busy. Most nights we have been completely full by 5pm and tonight it only took 55 minutes to completely fill the albergue, including a mattress on the floor. People are scrambling for beds today, if you have not made a reservation you are in big trouble.
Yesterday I had a great experience, there was a many from Sydney, Australia. His name was Jim. A very nice man. We chatted a bit and then after dinner I learned that he was a Catholic priest and it turns out that several years ago he was the priest in the parish of my friends Mike and Ashleigh whom I walked with in 2014. It’s a small world. I sent them a picture of the two of us. Very cool.
The albergue continues to be full of so many people from all over the world. Ukraine, Israel, Belgium, So Korea, Japan, China, Mexico, Honduras, Chile, Germany, France, Italy, Hungary…. It is amazing. Even a few from the USA and Canada. I always enjoy talking to all of the pilgrims.
