Last night I stayed at an albergue owned by a Korean couple. They served Bibembop for dinner. It was delicious. I loved being able to slather it in Korean pepper sauce. There is nothing really spicy here in Spain.
Today our walk started out though town and then we began our climb of Alto Molestares, which feels like it is straight up for about 15 minutes. Normally, I have had to stop as I walked up, but today I was able to walk straight up the hill without stopping. This made me very happy as I feel like I am getting stronger.
The rest of the walk was though the Masetta which is an area of Spain that has many fields of grain and safflowers. Some will try to tell you that it is flat but that is false. It has its ups and downs. My walk today was about 30 km which equates to 18.6 miles.
I am staying in a municipal albergue in a wide spot in the road called Poblacion de Campos. You need to go to the bar in town to get the key to enter. Funny enough there are 18 beds and most are full. The did not have any water in the albergue until about 5 as they were working on the water line. We finally got water and I was able to take a hot shower. Crazy enough it was the best shower I have had in the last 6 days. Some days the water was cold. Such is the Camino.
