I am walking the Camino after I served as a Hospitalero in Nàjera.
Yesterday, I left the albergue bright and early at about 7. My first idea was to walk 21 km to Santo Domingo de la Calzada. My thought was if I feel ok I will walk another 8 km to Grañon and stay at the donativo albergue there, but if I am feeling tired I will stop. I felt great so off I went. Staying in the donativo albergue is an experience. You sleep in part of a church and sleep in mats on the floor. They make a communal dinner and breakfast. They do this all for a donation that is up to you. They tell you that if you can help it is greatly appreciated and if not that is ok too. We had 46 people for dinner it was very cool. After they do a prayer service in the church. I was honestly too tired so I skipped and when to bed. I got a great nights sleep and was up at 6 ready to go.
Today after a nice breakfast I headed off to Villa Mayor Montes de Oca. Another 28 km. Day. Since it was only my second day on the Camino my body is feeling a little tired. My feet hurt a bit, but overall it was a good day. I am staying in a nice albergue and we able to go to the local restaurant to for a nice lunch. I have walked almost 40 miles in the last two days. Tomorrow I will try to take it a bit easier. Two days left to Burgos.
