Today started out near the top of the mountain. I was up early and nothing was open so I put on my headlamp and started walking. I only had to walk a few km’s to get to O’Cebrero to get some coffe and breakfast.
The walk down from O’Cebrero to Tricastella is supposed to be all down hill but that is really not true. There were some good uphills on the way down. All in all it was not a bad day.
After looking at my schedule I realized that I was a day behind so the second part of my day was walking by Tesla. I traveled from Tricastella to Sarria. From Sarria I walked an additional 3km to Barbadello. I have always had coffee here but never stayed. So today here I am. I am in a room with 8 beds. Looks like there will be four of us in the room. Me and 3 Italian ladies about my age. that should work out just fine. Barbadello is really in the middle of nowhere. There are probably more cows than people. Not that I have a problem with that.
Tomorrow I am back on schedule. Unfortunately, I baked myself into a corner by making and paying for non-refundable train reservations. So much for being organized. I now realize that I would have preferred to not have had a schedule. Funny thing is that I have not made a room / bed reservation as of yet and have had no problems getting a bed. Even after Sarria which is were I am today. Tomorrow we will see how busy the Camino is.
